Zai Research Lab
Zai Research Lab is a facility dedicated to addressing the climate crisis through speculative cross-breeding. The lab fuses plants to inherit adaptive traits, creating 88 hybrid species designed to survive extreme future climates.
Rooted in Chinese tradition, Zai blends heritage with extensive experimentation, reimagining slow cultivation and botanical wisdom. Through ongoing speculations and experiments, the lab aims to preserve plant species, ensuring their survival in shifting ecosystems and preventing extinction in the near future.
