The Forgotten Archive
An immersive exhibition that simulates how our lost wildlife might be reconstructed in the distant future. The archive presents a fictional reconstruction where extinct species—wiped out by habitat loss, ecological disruption and long-term environmental change—are imperfectly pieced back together, through fragmented evidence and speculative analysis.
The archive questions the narrative of our natural history through the ethics of speculative preservation in the wake of irreversible environmental loss. How would our ecological memory be reinterpreted by those who come after us, and what legacy do we want to leave behind?
