Yeo Jun Sin Benedict
Trained in fine arts, Benedict is a practising artist with brief experience working in the forensic field. These experiences cultivated Benedict's desire to pursue an MA in Art Therapy in LASALLE College of the Arts, in order to reach out to a wider population by incorporating therapeutic benefits and potential that he has fostered through this kind and level of training.
During his time in the postgraduate training programme, Benedict had the opportunity to expand his clinical experience through working with government organisations, such as residential homes for adolescents under probation order or child protection, and adolescents within public school settings.
Being a sculpture-trained artist, Benedict creates 3D artwork as a form of self-care, with each artwork representing a snapshot of the time of creation. This way, he effectively creates a tangible form of his emotions to better identify areas of self-improvement that could be used to further develop his professional identity.

Excavating the beauty within is a snapshot capturing the artist's experience interacting with adolescents during their senior placement.
Excavating the beauty within depicts how the adolescents interacted with the therapist using different manners such as sight, speech or listening. These methods of interaction can be seen as parts the adolescents take pride in showing to others, which are in turn something to be celebrated.
In this way, the beauty of each adolescent is excavated from within themselves.
