Marylyn Chu

MA Art Therapy
2025

Marylyn has vast exposure in airline, travel and retail personalised customer care. She believes her curiosity about people, their cultures and experiences are vital to capturing impressions and accurate empathic understanding.

Her previous experience working with adults with addiction during her Bachelor of Counselling studies, as well as a desire to contribute meaningfully to society, were instrumental to her pursuit of art psychotherapy training.

Through the MA Art Therapy programme, she has had the opportunity to augment her clinical experience by providing therapeutic services to all ages—from children to older adults with cancer—at various hospitals and organisations.

Marylyn is intrigued by the play of light, shadow, movement, intricate details and unique organic shapes. She prefers creating art with texture and capturing images inspired by the creativity in nature through symbolic and tactile methods. Her art involves capturing stories of lived experiences, conveying psychological concepts to validate her budding professional identity.
