Reuel Jonah Poh Yong Seng
Reuel is a guitarist and songwriter from Singapore. Captivated by his church worship services, he picked up the guitar and eventually started playing in worship services himself.
In time, his passion for music grew and he decided to enrol in the Diploma in Music programme at LASALLE College of the Arts, and pursue music as a career. During his musical journey, he was mentored by local legends Sebastian Ho and Simon Yong.
Reuel aspires to be a session guitarist, songwriter and performer. His music is inspired by CCM (contemporary Christian music), pop punk and Mando/Canto/Hokkien pop, and he continuously expands his repertoire and understanding of different genres. Through his music, he hopes to inspire future generations to step out of their comfort zone and pursue their passion and dreams.
Work
Reuel performed at LASALLE’s Rock & Indie Festival (2024), Voice Of My Generation (VOMG) Fire Of Youth competition (2023) and LASALLE Orientation (2023) as CTRL Chaos’ guitarist. He also performed at Purple Parade’s 10th Anniversary (2022). He also sessioned for a Youtube channel, That’s Worship, recording three videos: That’s Worship Sessions #12 and #16 (both 2022) and a cover of Brooke Ligertwood's 'A Thousand Hallelujahs' (2022).
Reuel was Simon Yong’s guitar technician for 爱情歌苏永康新加坡演唱会 William So’s Love Story Concert (2023). He is also a regular guitarist for Blessed Grace Church (2022–present) and previously played for Hope Church Singapore (2016–21).
