Ray Chua (Sgstingray)
Ray is an innovative electronic music producer and performer known for blending intricate sound design with experimental compositions.
His musical journey began with traditional instruments prior to transitioning into the electronic music realm. There, he has since established a distinctive sound marked by ambient textures, rhythmic experimentation and immersive live performances.
Ray's work often features custom-built instruments and unique hardware, merging technical craftsmanship with creative expression. With each work, he pushes sonic boundaries, inviting listeners into a soundscape evolving in complexity and expressiveness.
Ray is committed to delivering high-quality sound experiences directly to his audience. As an audio engineer, he also crafts his sound with an unparalleled level of precision, ensuring that every detail aligns with his artistic vision. As both an artist and an engineer, Ray strives to shape his work at every level, creating a unique auditory journey.
Work
Ray's original music was featured in Sennheiser Asia's product advertisement (2021). He is part of an electronic music duo, OZIRAY, who has graced stages at the Esplanade Concourse and LASALLE. Ray also performed in CHOPPA Festival (2023, 2024) as part of a four-piece experimental music group, ORRA.
Ray released his latest EP Becoming, capturing the essence of his live performances and showcasing his continued exploration of electronic and experimental music.
