Chew Kenji Kenneth (Nakano Kenji)
Based in Singapore, Nakano Kenji is a jazz bassist who began his journey in the local scene in 2014. Over the years, he has collaborated with many seasoned musicians and performed at renowned venues such as the Esplanade and the Capitol Theatre.
Kenji's passion for jazz grew as he delved into its improvisational nature and expressive possibilities, leading him to explore the genre's rich emotional landscape. He aspires to deepen his craft as a musician while exploring the boundless artistic and expressive potential of music.
Work
In his career as a musician, Kenji has performed in various venues such as the Esplanade, the Capitol Theatre, Blu Jaz Cafe, Maduro, Cool Cats and a few others. He has also played in festivals overseas in countries such as Thailand and Indonesia.
Currently, he performs weekly at the Vagabond Hotel with veteran local musicians.
