Nuraisha Nadira
Nuraisha is a visual artist with a background in illustration, whose painting practice explores softness, abstraction and movement.
Her work often features sculptural applications of oil pastels, where form is moulded directly onto the surface, allowing the subject to dissolve into gesture and colour. By repeatedly layering and removing marks, Nuraisha creates compositions that resist clarity, and instead offer moments of emotional ambiguity and transformation.
Her recurring subject, the soft and playful presence of her cat, becomes a symbolic anchor for ideas of comfort, affection and impermanence. Through the abstraction of this familiar figure, Nuraisha’s work reflects a deeper engagement with memory and emotional space, where meaning emerges not from defined outlines but through subtle shifts in texture, rhythm and atmosphere.
